Camps Australia App
Has anyone else downloaded Camps Australia app. I did yesterday, $29.99. Still learning how to use it. You can subscribe for updates, monthly $4.49 or yearly $29.99. I think I would only scribe for monthly every 12 months to get all the updates. Only my thoughts on it. It is suitable for Ipad, Iphone and Android Tablets 8" or 10" only

Re: Camps Australia App
I think I will make do with Wiki camps and my file I build from info a glean from forums and personal contact. Up to nearly 800 so far.
I upload this file to my GPS every so often and that gives me a list of all sites that I have seen either recommended by forum members or travelers.
I may look at the old camps 7 to see where I have marked a site as all sites on the GPS file have a yellow highlight in the book to help with planning but not sure I need a new one and I wont be able to have this facility on the app and besides I don't have an apple I have android on my tablet and phone and hopefully soon n my PC.
Regards
Brian

Re: Camps Australia App
I do agree with the Wiki Camps comment, but saying that I have found sites in Camps7 that are not listed on Wiki Camps and sites on Wiki that are not in Camps. I certainly don't want to pay $30.00 a year for information I can get for free, I would how ever pay the monthly fee once a year to get a yearly update.

Just me? but I think people are sanitising their trips.
What's wrong with just going and finding good spots as you go?
To have to rely on a computer/table/apps not how I want to travel.
We don't have any thing except a old copy of 'camps' and a direction?
We do have a GPS but nothing in it just what it came with in 06.
We don't have a smart phone, or as my mate Eddie says smart ass phone.
Aint been lost yet, have travelled all states and territories except for WA.
Getting closer.
Bernie.

Re: Camps Australia App
Its just you Bernie
Its a very good app, very helpful, but not every camp is in it, nor in camps book, nor any of the websites.
The app is getting bigger and better with input from the users and I find this, as well as the photo's and comments, very informative.
Its just another quiver in the bow, information is a good thing, there is a war on you know (caravan parks vs free camping)

I don't use smiley neither bagmaker.
Your missing my point. You don't need all these app thingy's to travel just go out and do it.
Wonder If "cookie" could have found Aus if he relied on a 'app' (which incidentally wasn't lost )
Bernie.

Re: Camps Australia App
We found an unlisted gravel pit which we used overnight, then listed in wikicamps.
Wikicamps is the only app I have ever bought, and its well paid for itself.
We have camps 5 and 6, will probably buy 8 as they are useful references.
