Got the good news from the engineer re the increase of the CGM. He has done the calculations and numbers and will be sending the new plates for the 12t we asked for. So now we can look seriously at the Suzuki GV (auto)as we have the Roadmaster tow thingo.
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.

Bernie.
When the bus conversion was done the engineer put the GVM & the GCM both down as 11.025t however the weight of the bus fully laden was 10.3t thus not leaving enough weight to tow a reasonable vehicle.

In NSW"I think that would put you up into the category where annual inspections at the RTA pits were required, complete with the $125 fee and trip on the brake roller and "shaker plates, not something I'd want to subject a motorhome too as it's like speeding over a corrugated road.
Hopefully that won't come in Aust wide when they finish unifying the heavy vehicle rego rules.

Bernie.
GCM means the greatest possible sum of the maximum loaded mass of a motor vehicle, and any vehicles that may be lawfully towed by it at one time, as specified by the vehicle manufacturer on a plate affixed to the motor vehicle
Must be a lot of people breaking the rules then, the amount of motorhome driving by my place and I'm talking about those front wheel drive ones including my next door and over the back from me.
And soon to be me. my bus weighs 9.3 ton and will be towing SGV.
Mate in town just came back from NSW with his vintage car on trailer. his is also front wheel drive.
Also how come a car can tow a car trailer with a car on it?
Bernie.

It's easy to do it. It's not so easy if you crash and try to avoid the consequences, or try to claim insurance.
