Kingston SE, SA details

Post by BruceS »

Just like to let people know that the toilet block located near the jetty in Kingston is currently closed for renovations/improvements.
There is a security fence right around it so there is no access at all.
I guess it's only be the fool-hardy that'd be staying there tonight!!
Cold, bleak, windy ............ not good!!
Guess what? There's a wizz-bang in the free parking area all the same!! Brrrrr!!

Put your policeman's uniform on and move them on.

Staying the night here, and notice a utility towing a trailer. Wonder where they keep their shower and toilet? But, I also have doubts about some of the caravans here whether they all fully comply.
Oh, the toilets are now open again.

If you are staying at Kingston in either of the two council free camp grounds you need to be self contained - on board toilet and grey tanks.

My apologies - I have corrected the items that council requires.

Hi Bruce, sorry but I didn't see that Kingston was your domain. We filled with water at the car park near the 24 hour stop and I did notice this morning that there was also a separate water tap at the dump point. Had a night at the 24 hour site and one at Wyomi Beach - now at Southend Bush Camp. Is it always windy is SA?? ;) ;)

Not an issue for us, but why in heavens name do you need an inside shower to qualify as self contained?
Guess they are afraid that you will set up your shower tent. What if you don't have a tent?
Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

Where does the grey water from a shower tent end up?

Ends up making the *lawn green, but remember Jim, I also asked; "What if you don't have a tent?".

I've got photos of people doing worse things than having a shower in an open floored tent.

The shower requirement for self contained is assuming a shower is mandatory.

* yes I know the surface may not be grass and the results may not be desirable.
