It sound like you are in good company with George and his family, I was a member of the Kotara Bowling club for ten years, a great little club with good beer and food, where you are now is about 2 k from where Glennis and I used to live before we moved out to Fishing Point, we hope you and Russell enjoy the new bus and have many happy and safe trips in it, we are in the CP at Streaky Bay SA for another 2 weeks then onto Port Lincoln, Tumby bay then Dot & George,s home in time to catch the last of the Tour Down Under Bike race in late January which passes close to Dot,s Place, if we were back home we would have caught up with you no doubt.
Have a safe and Merry Christmas
Cheers
Chris

Yeah now I remember, the 200km was Newcastle to Wollongong. But thats another 84.16 from Sydney, so Newcastle to the Gong is really more like 244.54 PLUS another 15km to Lake Illawarra for say 270km!
Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

Er, Dottie... I don't have any fleas... nor do our hounds!
However, there are a few cockroaches hiding somewhere in my Playpen (workshop to 'normal' people).
Can never get the buggers to stand still while I stomp 'em! I'd gladly leave them unattended in Sydney!
Shirley,
Gotta be about 40 years... went there to introduce my soon-to-be Blushing Bride to Father. Married nearly 39 years now.
Grew up in Warners Bay from age 5. When I lived there we had a General Store, a (brick!) PO, and a Wine Bar... that was the entire shopping centre until about 5~7 years later when Mrs Chapman opened a Pharmacy. Oh, the Bakery... forgot the bakery in the back street. Been there since Lake Macquarie was a rain puddle. The High School was still just a firm promise by govt when I left (age 17). Built in my absence before returning with Bride-to-be (I was then 28). Have not returned since then, apart from solo flying visit (48hrs) 5yrs later to sign papers & sort belongings after death of Father. No time for sightseeing then.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Warners Bay has a good shopping centre these days nice restaurants & the waterfront is great.

It's still only 8 am over here in the real world Dottie. Some may have advanced to second coffee by now but around the Newcastle area they are either just getting home from work or starting to brew the first coffee
