I just googled a licence number that was posted here - A33736. Nothing about being an electrical licenece number came up. I somehow doubt that this sort of info would be readily available. I may be wrong!

I don't know about other states but in Qld the ESO (Electrical Safety Office), has a register of ALL Electricians licenced to carry out work in Qld and what level of licence they hold. A person must hold an Electrical Contractors licence to issue a certificate of compliance. I am sure the other states have a similar arrangement. One day we may get a national licencing system but I'm not holding my breath.
My licence No. is A33736, I have been a tradesman for 40 years and I still learn something new every day. Nobody can possibly know ALL the rules, regulations and applicable standards but they should know where to access the correct up to date information. Unfortunately some don't and that is when the rot starts.
Just googled your number - doesn't give me any info.

We always check on the registration board of what ever "tradesman" we use now. If they do not have the current ticket we do not use them. We will take any given info but always with a grain of salt and always double check with the appropriate authorities. e.g. If for example Peter you were to give me some info on the abc of xyz I would thank you for your information then I would check with the correct authority. If that info was correct then I would put that info you gave into action, hell I even question my husbands advice / info

Jim, If you had read my post correctly you may have noticed that I said 'Electrical Safety Office Qld' not Google. Try here>>>> https://www.deir.qld.gov.au/elis/<<<<. That is the direct link to the page I mentioned.

Hi, yes I did read what you said, but I was googling due to someone else saying, "There are ways and means Jim.As with all things. For instance google comes to mind. They must have a register of sorts on a web site.Scan their ticket and post it. Anybody got any more suggestions..Not rude ones please......"
