Maroochydore pro tem.

Post by shonky »

Hi,all.

So we left Brisbane two weeks ago, en route to Noosa, a good trip apart from yesterday's tragedy. Steffy is now head dog, and taking her duties very seriously, especially when woken up. Stopped for a brief rest in Maroochydore and expect to be taking off next year sometime. The fuel usage is shocking - 33km daily average - and will have to tank up when leaving here.

So sad! It'll take a little while for all to settle down ans accept the new pecking order....
Shonky what did you mean 33km daily? Doesn't that have a second gear or are you pushing it?
Fuel costs have changed a lot of plans over the last few years ......... that and the earning power of a $$ invested!!

Our quack advised me to take it easy. If you see our vehicle moving before 10am or after midday call the police, it's been stolen.

Hey Shonky, our BOSS is a wee bit slow on the uptake, even I knew what you meant by the 33ks daily, we did a beaut trip one day, a whole 5ks...We are also slugs when it comes to getting up and moving.

Hi, all.

Still at Maroochdore - various chapters of the CMCA book the local school grounds for 5 to 7 days at a time back to back, which means that one may stay there for up to six weeks, and many do. $10 per night, powered sites, good water, Sunshine Plaza is the other side of the carpark and Cottontree Beach is only 2km away.

Each chapter take the responsibility for watering the grounds, keeping order - these guys are a riotous lot - and collecting the rent. The school makes around $2000 to $3000 per week and everyone benefits.

Shot back to base in Caloundra yesterday to pick up Dimples the battered toad (you can work that out) to give us greater flexibility.

For the dog lovers among us Steffie is still grieving the loss of her soulmate.

Hi, all.

Adminperson - FYI every vehicle parked outside within 200 meters of our address was hammered, roofers made a fortune, the lawns appeared to have had 2 to 3cm of snow and SWMBO's garden was a write-off. One neighbour was told his vehicle could not be repaired till April. Incidentally we found out the difference between agreed and market value when insuring motor vehicles. If unsure CHECK IT OUT. So glad we don't have a steel-bodied bus. Fibre glass and solar panels were not affected. Doctors were very busy apparently sewing up those persons who were caught outside.

Heading up to Noosa in the BT - Fuel costs for the Talvor were getting out of hand.
