Coaster tyre pressure

Hi, all.

Anybody know the ideal front tyre pressure for a Coaster motorhome?

Depends on the tyres but I'd reckon about 65 front and 60 ea back.
That's what I run in my Civilian which is similar. Bridgestone tyres.

Shonky, Our Coaster handbook says 74 psi front and 44 psi rear, but if I run it at those pressure the back moves all over the place so I run 75 psi front and 60-65 psi rear. Our Coaster fully loaded up with driver and passenger weighs in at just over 4700kg with about 2000kg on the front axle. I run 7.00 12 ply Bridgestones on the front and 7.00 10 ply Firestones on the back. Do you know any of your weights??

Supersparky - the query was on behalf of a neighbour who runs his tyres at 65 psi who finds the outside edge of his tyres wearing and has seen the problem on a similar Coaster.

Shonky, If the LHF wears more than the RHF it is a typical Coaster thing caused by too much positive caster, according to the guys at my local Bridgestone place. I would not run my front tyres as low as 65 again. I tried it once and I didn't like the way it felt.

Most truck/bus tyres have recommended pressures on the side wall, if you stick with those, you won't got wrong. I've found over the years and from what I've been told that 5-10% above sidewall recommendations give the best wear and traction and that's what we always did on the road trains and semi's I've driven over the years, giveaa better ride and fuel comsumption. My bus runs on 120psi front and 110 dual back,

Hi Shonky,
I run my 89 EX with 70 in the front and 55 in the rear duals, has handled great over the last 15000 kms Drive is from a 12HT with auto transmission. Hope this helps.
