Take the batteries out of the remote?
I noticed yesterday the garage roller door courtesy light flashes 5 or 6 times each time I turn on or off a flouro light.
Must be some EFI or EMI flying around?

Now that we are home and G has some time to check things out we might get some answers. Even with the suggested set top box on last night we could only get 2 SBS channels without the cracking up, the rest were impossible. Yes we turned the tv off and played scrabble once again and FYI G won (I let him of course)

I recently had a problem with TV reception in tenants premises, tried everything without success until I bypassed the masthead amplifier after which the result was more chanels with perfect reception than one could imagine. I had a similar problem with the TV in the bus until I bypassed the masthead amplifier where-after, problem solved.
