But Steve, do we know the year model, km traveled (according to the lie clock), the road type *history, the asking price, how many grandchildren it will cost etc etc?

dawg (* I recall Dave said he thought it was stationary for much of its' life.)

PS Dave, be prepared to go into Coaster withdrawal. Bandit may need counseling.

The unit we just looked at had 53,000k on clock and was a 2003 model, price varied depending on where you were looking but had $145k on the window. Varied on the internet up to $159k but that was an old ad. We won't be buying this one, but we haven't stopped looking at all our options. Might get a later model Coaster or a Civilian even.

I meant to buy in principle - not a particular vehicle. ;-)

Brad, Not the problem. I sleep at the back and rarely wake through the night, the major problem is making the bed and the lack of ventilation in the back corner when I'm sleeping. If I have had a little drink I sweat like a bastard and need some space. Single beds will never be on the agenda. Might as well live in different houses.
We are seriously looking at modifying the rear window in the Mazda to make it open like the old panelvan set up. That way one can stand outside and the other inside and making the bed would become much easier. The Kombi is wall to wall mattress, head at the rear door, feet at the side door end, we open the rear door and bed making is over in a few mins, near impossible to do any other way
As far as the sweats, a fantastic vent and Maxx Air vent cover, the fan blows in or out, so in at night to create that cooling and drying breeze when needed, works a treat. The other option is one of those Sirocco fans that can be swivelled to face nearly any direction, on the ceiling at the foot of the bed and blowing up and over you

Yes Terry, you and Dave know that I had that wide wheel chair access door unlike the very narrow standard rear door that Dave has. And, as you say, the wide door is very much easier.

Dave, was thinking of the many outfits up your way that get in late model Coasters from Japan which will fit out to your specs. I'm sure you have thought of this, but what you may not have thought about or remembered is Coaster make a 4WD unit too. You just have to be careful of rust because they are predominantly used for the skiing crowd and susceptible to salt corrosion.

Name slips me just know, but the young CMCA forum fellow from Hobart Tasmania had one shipped from Japan. He collected it from Queensland and stopped by my place on the way back for an electric step I pulled off my Coaster. He posted a video of him using it on one of the logging tracks near home.

Treavor - think that was his moniker.
