Really who cares who the moderators are lets just give them a go at getting the forum up & operational again.
There is plenty of room on the Internet for any amount of forums I can't see why any forum would close because of another forum opening, the only reason for closure would be lack of participating members, as I have stated before probably like most people I belong to a few forums & enjoy them.
Where do we all go when the CMCA forum reopens?

I don't think any forum "boss's" would expect their mods not to belong to any other forums, if that was one of the conditions I would tell to "go for a walk" Reckon I shall stay here where I get to write letters to myself.

The best forum I subscribe to is run by a benevolent dictator.native pepper wrote:Hope this a forum doesn’t shut down, as it's the only one I'm on and will never rejoin CMCA, it's a dictatorial corporation, not a club, so members get no say on anything.
The best type of club for travelling people from around the country would be an on line one, where everyone has a say and vote, as well as chooses the moderators. No need for a board or expensive staff, just lots of online members who could make a huge difference and be able to address things instantly, instead of once a year, is the only democratic approach that would actually represent the members in this 21st century. That's how our governments should also be run, by the people on line in a referendum style government

Re: Where do we all go when the CMCA forum reopens?
This is the only one I belong to, been on a couple over the years, but found most go round in circles and become boring. I like the atmosphere here, nice and laid back with no drop kicks and lots of respect for others. Plus good information, When was in the CMCA found their forum interesting until the board got paranoid, so decided CMCA was a waste of time and money. Went to one gathering and couldn’t handle the crowds and never ending noise, no different to being in a city in my opinion. When travelling, always avoid camps where there are more than a couple of people there, just love the quiet as get enough noise in pubs and clubs when playing.SteveW wrote:The best forum I subscribe to is run by a benevolent dictator.native pepper wrote:Hope this a forum doesn’t shut down, as it's the only one I'm on and will never rejoin CMCA, it's a dictatorial corporation, not a club, so members get no say on anything.

I can guarantee I am not in that photo! Personally, I know none of those in the picture.
I am also sure that there is the room for more than 2 forums. I doubt that here will shut unless the site owners tire of it, and the same would go for AMH. I just find it a bit bizzare that Iza asks the questions here, but not on AMH. That sort of behaviour smells like its green and lives under a bridge.

Are you sure that trolls are green Martin?
Better watch out for the big billy goats too, they can carry a very nasty virus (Q virus), saw it on landline today.

Depends on how I am feeling Shirley, some days I write myself a letter , some days I ban myself and other times I write or ban some one else at random. Terry has had a letter and Chuck had a ban, never know who will be nextShirley wrote:Do you get many letters Dot?

This forum will do me.
Might do a bit of lurking when CMCA re-opens... or rather, opens their new all-singing, all-dancing highly restricted forum.
(Why else would the Newsletter make prominent mention of the participation in the training of un-named moderators by the club's leagle eagle - who is named, along with the club's other participating big-wigs?)
Can't imagine users ('members' implies some sort of two-way communication & responsibility) would have anywhere near the freedom and relaxed approach of this forum and its mods.
I think most would be too frightened to say 'boo' or criticise the CMCA Board.
Once bitten...

Re: Where do we all go when the CMCA forum reopens?
Don't agree think our new board is open to members suggestions & thoughts, very different to the old school hopefully the CMCA will continue to move forward & the forum is definitely a good move, time will tell.
