We are at the Quobba camp site just now staying at a friends shack for 2 weeks untill he returns. and its a mess, the cyclone has blown most of the shacks to bitzzz just bent tin. The ranger has said they are going to move all the shacks back away from HIGH water mark.. = then let the said owners put in better shacks ( shipping containers ) like stuff.side by side.. and then there will be camping room for the few that have a bag full of $ ....
There is nothing here but sunshine and fresh air.. you have to cart water 148 ks round trip. the dump points are full, the bins are empty, last time the bins used to be over flowing..
Some one has missed the point here... GN spend big $ in our travels, last year we put 4500 in to the 40 mile plus rent...
Even then there were plenty of spaces for vans..
We dont want free camping just fare camping fee for whats here, a bit off flat ground...
Too hard for some gov. Its their loss ...
Our last visit to WA..

Well the 28 day stay has started in WA as from yesterday, The 40 mile n cleaverville asked for a stay for this year but was knocked back !
QLD must be rubbing their hands together by this action. good on ya WA well done on how to get rid off the easteners comeing over here taking up all the good camping sites .... Its working as all the campers Ive spoken to come from ,yep Perth..
Bob..
Ps If there isnt enough room its a no brainer just clear a little bit more area, no not big sites just move some sand where nothing is growning anyhow..
I just smile at the thinking..

Just heard on the ABC wireless the Nigaloo homestead owner talking about the said ( takeover by the lib.gov.) off the coastal areas and the lease of the pastrol coastal areas, why not the inland as well, you guessed right no campers inland.
Sounds like a grab by some parties to make money from the hard work that has gone into setting all this up over the years by the lease holders.. Its like the gov. taking over your busniess on the corner store because they are going to build a big school over the road..
We all know the GNs are growing in numbers every year and will have big money to spend...
The owner of Nigaloo station said, what the NParks have now they carnt look after ....
Will keep you up to date as more info come to light on this..

Hi All, Well they changed the rules yet again, you now carnt stay with a friend at his her fishing shack , and you can only stay for the said 28 days in a year, plus this is the dumbest off all. The shack owner can only stay at the said shack for 3 months in a year as well. BUT has to pay rates for a year. that means the shack will be a open go for any one wanting to rob the place..
Why is all this going on FNs . Have to ask the powers that beee..
Just have a big think before coming all the way from the East to have a nice quite winter here in WA, you will be hasseled and told to move on, ripped off with over priced places that have zip not even a bit off flat ground to camp on...Unless you are a Van park user and want to pay $$ and more $. and can hear the next vans . where did comoncence go WA ?
Bob n Bev , going to good old QLD next year...

Trouble with Qld is it is becoming overcrowded, most of the popular sites are a lottery to get a good site, need to be there early and wait until someone pulls out if you are lucky. We had a few site like that while we where travelling, once we settled down we found a couple of good sites for minimal rent. Suited us as we only needed to bring in water and take out sullage.
On the road full time, sometimes?????

Wonder how much the Flying Doctor is missing out on donations from Gas Plant and the water there?
