Make a phone call to the local bee keeper, they pay good money around here for a new swarm to start a new hive so I'm guessing it would be the same down that way. You need them to move the queen fairly soon or you will have a bee hive in the house or shed roofBruceS wrote:I was brought up on rhubarb growing on the sewage outlet on the farm.
At least ours now only has cow poop fertilizer!!!!
Plants look sick now as the plants have had a haircut & the freezer is busy!
The biggest swarm of bees I've EVER seen has decided to camp overnight in my front yard. I'm keeping my head down!!

Re: SA Heatwave coming
Already sorted T1! Bee keeper lives around the corner and he came straight around with 2 half hives.......... went back & got bigger boxes!!
I got a box of honey samples to take back to Natalie for sale in her shop. Remember her? Boat next to mine with the canoe?

He reckon it'll split into 3 or 4 & he always 'inserts' new queen bees so they forget the wandering business.
None left in the tree at sundown & boxes are 'buzzing'. Reckon I should put a cork in 'em?
See on the news tonight where a truck tipped over with a load of hives? Copper trapped in his car till rescued!!

I am ready for the heatwave.BruceS wrote:It is forecast to be about 33 on Sat & Sun and close to 40 degrees on Monday in Adelaide.
Probably be updated to be a bit less but that's pretty hot for the very beginning of October!!
I'd reckon a lot of farmer's crops will be finished by that!! Around Mannum, SA the crops are badly looking for rain now anyway.
Grass paddocks have all gone to seed & could nearly be burnt now.

Hmmm...... you aren't planning to grow those funny tomato plants that don't seem to bear fruit in that shed are you? Seem to remember seeing photos from a police raid and the inside of the shed looked like thatBoblebago wrote:I am ready for the heatwave.BruceS wrote:It is forecast to be about 33 on Sat & Sun and close to 40 degrees on Monday in Adelaide.

Strange Geoff? Insulate to keep the heat out of a heated indoor swimming pool.
Does it stick on the walls or mesh over it?
Lotta fun doing that job......... I once tried wall paper! Never again!

No tomatoes no funny weed. Yes it's the pool shed mainly insulated to keep warmth in during the winter as pool is heated to 32 degrees. We are going to wrap it around the pool as well. I wish it was my new bus shed but been too busy to get organised for that. Bruce I tek screwed it to the purlins with screws and mudguard washers 25mm diameter.
