Aysons Reserve

Post by Jon and Kay »

Another great campsite. Having travelled from Lake Ratzcastle, to Murtoa, Lake Catyo Batyo (another great camp, but dry at the moment), we have arrived at Aysons Reserve for two reasons. 1. The Elmore Field Days start Tomorrow 2. The speedo cable has broken and the only place I know I can get it replaced (made) is up the road at Shepperton.
It's 33 dgrees, the fans are going flat out :)

The speedo cable has broken...
EDIT: somehow the following did not post - I find the GPS speedo easier to read.

Last time there (Tail end of Easter) the one and only amenities block was flogged to death and could not cope.
Passed on the shower too - good call.
So crowded I had to park at the far end away from the toilet block - another good call.

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

Oh No!! Back in the old days, huh Marie??
Often wondered if I'd get colourful language if/when I knocked over the shower tent with SWMBO in it???
Lotta laughs and, no doubt, a lotta good times?

Jon I've got one of those 7" Chinese GPS's that I've retired because it became almost unresponsive to touch and is not very visable in bright daylight.
'They run on the iGo system with Windows CE as the operating system behind that.
I run a small program on it called "Speedo". Written by a NZ person no less!!! (INbetween sheep no doubt)[shearing ofcourse!]
It runs at full screen sized numbers. Might be cheaper than a new cable?

Thanks bruce, I run a navigator on my tablet, had built in gps, speedo etc. I made the last speedo cable myself ,no warranty though. It's only 50mm long, the next 10 metres is done electronically. Couldn't get the parts this time.

Low mileage doesn't always seem to equate to long engine life...but the next owner isn't to know these things eh

New speedo cable in, oddometer and cruise control working again. It's easy when you are near a place that has a dedicated speedo cable manufacturer. Last time it broke I was in Katherine, I had to improvise.
