We only use UHT milk with the powered if we run out which has not happened on this trip. At least 10lt for me as I drink a lot of milk. Fat for Bruce & semi for me!

Always stock up in smallest containers, don't allow it to get warm on the way home from the supermarket.
Buy a skimmed milk and freeze it. (freeze up to 6 weeks)

Shirley, You will be pleasantly surprised to find how easy it is to be gluten free.

Why are we having a discussion about what type of milk? If you put milk into tea - it's not tea. It's flavoured milk and not a nice flavour either!

I agree with that comment Steve, we both drink our teas without milk, drink green tea most of the time, drink coffee black too.

Dot I have been on the diet about 5 weeks & feel so much better, many gluten free products available in the supermarkets.

Some of the sights from the nulla Roadhouse to the caves. The pics do not do them justice plus there was NO way I was going to go down 2 out of the 3, they are huge and go way down and I mean down :o The pic with the spunk in the red top was as far as I would go, the rocks were so slippery from wear over the years and there was thousands of swallows nesting in all the caves , still some signs of water but further down the water is plentiful. It took us 45 minutes to do the 10k trip to the caves, the road TRACK was quite rough after the wet weather. Saw heaps of blue tongues and stumpy lizards as well. Got back to the Nulla Roadhouse to hitch up again and holy moley the caravan park was bursting at the bare dirt  we headed out the road to a really nice large, shaded rest area, once again on our own and loved it.. George reset the clock in the bus and forgot to do the one in the bedroom  we woke up at 8.30am but really that was not the right time, we were still on WA time. Oh well must have needed the sleep. Made an early start today due to the heat but we missed the last rest area (no sign) so we turned the genny on and headed for Ceduna where the nice man at the check point did the quickest check ever, so potatoes and carrots are both ok now. Parked under a tree with G still going and G headed off to do an inspection of the cp's. He came back with the "follow me" and so here we are in a cp for 2 nights for washing, shopping and sight seeing stuff and the pussy tats can have the air con on all day if so desired. Damm hot today.. Miss Meow is giving us a bit of concern, a bit "vague" and I am shoving the water into her every chance I can, might be the heat? Re the Milk, I use normal milk in tea but I will use the carton stuff in custard and creamed rice etc. I am not gluten intolerant and I think a lot of people just go that way without being correctly diagnosed are raving mad, it can be dangerous.. Damm hot  Saw 2 dead wombats today

Dot I had all the tests, lost 12 kgs sent to a specialist, blood tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy & biopsy, the specialist arranged for me to see a dietician, she told us that only people with Celiac disease should be on a gluten free diet.

Hi Shirley
Our daughter and her son have Coeliac disease, Daughter was 7 when we finally found out, now 38 years old, there is history of this in relatives of ours.
If not already a member you could consider joining the Coeliac society, as a family we benefited from membership.
For those who do not know the definative test is a small bowel biopsy, If you have children even as adults then it would be worth them being tested.
A cousin was 50 when she became quite ill and was hosptalised, many tests later she was tested for coeliac and then went on the gluten free diet and now is doing well.
I concur that only people tested and found to be coeliac should be on the diet, if you follow a gluten free diet without being diaognosed then you cannot be tested, the villi which are on small protusions on the small bowel walls are stunted by the gluten content in foods which stops absorption of the nutrients into the body.
