"tanks" here---
If you are driving thru Wylie area do drop in at my place for a break, however I am thinking that you will take the short cut to Geraldton after you leave Kalgoorlie.
I won't promise scones with jam and cream like Dot does, but I can do a roast dinner if given time to defrost the roast.
Dot can update you on fuel prices and road conditions across the track.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

The 3 amigo's have left the yard. I even got up at 7am to farewell them but they were still snoozing.. They hit the road around 9am headed towards Claire (or so they say) Keith they will be going the shortest way possible home as a couple of them are due back at work. It should be interesting as yesterday their breakfast included baked beans :)

Well where do I start at the beginning I suppose.
We left Strath and the wonderful D & G Saturday morning and got to Woodchester and the bus gained a bit of a lean that got worse, so stopped and had a bit of a gander, found left side rear airbags flat. worked out that the equalizer valve was not doing its job had a bit of a play but still wouldn't work.
Luckily I had shut off valves fitted to each bag for just a situation anyway pumped up the air bags with a bypass switch and shut the valves off so at least that would get us home to Gero where I can fix it properly. Off we go then just going through Angaston we lost the accelerator so on the side of the road and fix that. Off we go again and finally get to a friends place in Kybunga just out of Claire, stayed the night and had a nice feed of chicken chow mein home cooked.
Left Kybunga and had a uneventful day and got to 80 kms out of Ceduna where it turned out to be a very warm night. Headed off in the morning and fuelled up at Ceduna and made our way west. A couple of hours down the road and passed a truck going east and the bloody door came apart so we stopped again and re clicked in the locks and off we went (thinking that it wasn't clicked correctly from the night before). few kms down the road another truck and the bloody door again stopped and put duct tape on it, that worked for a little while and this went on for a few more times until there ended being just about a full roll of duct tape holding it together so that seemed to work for the rest of the day, we pulled up 25 kms from the border for the night and ate our salad that we had left. Headed off towards Norseman and the door did it a couple of times so a little bit more tape ( yay that worked for the rest of the day) pulled up 79 kms out of Norseman for the night.
On the road again into Norseman for fuel, HCT toastie and a cappo so far the door all good. Got to Kal and so far all good (door still holding) carried on towards Leinster and thought maybe camp their or a bit closer to sandstone but alas the chinaman reared his stuffing head again when we got to the turn off to Leinster flat tyre on trailer so changed that and found that a spring hanger had ripped off when the tyre went, the boys went into town to find someone who could do a quick patch job to get us home. They found a young fella who happened to be the manager of Double R equipment repairs so he came had a look and we then limped it into there yard in town packed it on a pad plugged the bus in and on went the aircon for the night. The boily had a gander at it first thing in the morning but after a bit of a play to get the spring lined up it was discovered that not only was the draw bar bent a bit but all the welds on the left side of the sub frame were all torn so that was that trailer is now terminally deceased and left in Leinster. Well on the road back to Gero with no trailer we got home around 4 pm WA time Blaine went and got the trailer from his work and has headed back to Leinster today to empty the gear and bring that back . over all it wasn't to bad of a trip we got home in 6 days and as they say shit happens.
The guys in Leinster were great when we said to them what ever the cost its all good. his reply was nah mate we make enough out of the mining this is a love job so we brought him a ctn of bundy cans and gave 50 for the bar at the tavern for them as well but because they couldn't fix it they tried to give it all back but as I said they didn't have to help or let us camp in the yard and plug in for the night. (even offered me a job) they are that busy at the moment.
anyway that's enough of my waffle and I guess now we look at the next chapter of our life, stay safe and maybe see you all on the road again sometime
