Went for a Sunday morning wander out to Hay Point coal loading terminal. It is around 38km away from Mackay.
There is a lookout to view the 'layout' but be warned! ... it is a 10% gradient that has signs banning caravans, trucks and buses.
On the way out we saw a pineapple farm just near the turnoff on the Bruce highway.

About to be hit by another storm this evening , it may just slide north of us .
Only 4mm in last nite storm a lot of wind but bugga all rain .
It will be all gone by time you and Wendy get here mate....maybe?
When we had the farm the over the road was a Pineapple farmer we could just walk over and take what we wanted, cept the ones with the hole drilled in the side they were for the Crows , (Arsenic)

OK a couple of belated updates.
Enjoyed being 'up North' in the heat but after an enjoyable stay we woke up on the morning of the 8th Dec, enjoyed a "happy birthday" breakfast for Wendy with her Daughter in Moranbah, Qld & the took off like a scalded cat for Bernie's place at DEgilbo, Qld at 20p 6 AM.
Arrived at Degilbo around 3:30PM and spent a very enjoyable two nights in their company.
Left early on the 10th Dec, looked over Nanango, drove through Dalby, Moonie, Goondiwindi and called it 'time out' in Moree.
Tomorrow we intend continuing downhill and via little detour will drop in for a chat at Bob's in Binaway, NSW.
(better ring him & check if he's going to be around?)
