T.I.Terry - spent a bit of time on the phone today, and obtained the following recommendations

Sikaflex 252 is great providing there's a 4mm bead (after compression) all the way round. They recommend small spacers made of double-sided tape.

Selleys Armourflex is OK providing the panel is screwed down as well. They're a careful lot.
I can assure you that the Simson 70-03 does not require additional fasteners, it does require quite a bit of determination and a multi-tool with sharp cutting blade to remove if you change your mind. As the Armourflex is the same compound adhesive I can't see any reason it would not work exactly the same. I do know the easy way to remove anything glued down with sika is to use a heat gun, it will just lift off with enough heat applied, Simson will not... well I haven't been able to get it hot enough yet anyway and the surface around it was smoking and changing colour.

Hi, all.

Just been doing the homework - Selley's Roof and Gutter Sealant is flexible and can handle up to 150.C.
Fixtech's Fix8 flexible construction adhesive is flexible and is used widely in Saudi Arabia (for example) without any problems.

In my experience the Selley's, being silicone I think, will deteriorate more quickly.

Hi, all.

Jon and Kay - I wasn't worrying until you guys started up.
I'll be using Fix8, having just purchased two tubes, and you'll be the first to know if anything falls off the roof.

Hi, all.

FYI the Caboolture solar guy recommends pop rivets.

I can assure you it doesn't when it comes to attaching flexible solar panels ;)

Armourflex is an SMP adhesive, not silicone like the old silastic type product, this stuff stays attached.

Just chuck a net over the things and tie down securely. No worries :)
