First day

Post by Dot »

A young man hired by a supermarket reported for his first day of work.

The manager greeted him with a warm handshake and a smile, gave him a
broom and said, "Your first job will be to sweep out the store."

"But I'm a college graduate," the young man replied indignantly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that," said the manager. "Here, give me
the broom - I'll show you how."

The manager of our local Woolworths supermarket can often be seen helping with any & every chore in the shop, he is also a very friendly person, smiles & speaks to people all the time, seems to have a great approach to the position.

Yes, true Ray if something needed to be done & all were busy I'm sure he would use a broom or a mop. :D

We have a relation used used to manage a pub. His quote to all the newbies was always along the lines of 'No-one is that important that they can't pick up a dishcloth and wipe down the bar'.
