Hi, all.
Last year the lease for the town caravan park changed hands apparently, and naturally the new manager called for the free camp's closure, going straight to Goondiwindi Shire Council. The fact that one bloke was spending most of the year in the free camp didn't help at all.The council's response was knee-jerking at it's best although the response from all the local business's was the opposite. Ironically the long-term resident moved over the river to NSW for 8 months of the year, returning every month for a fortnight.. The rumour about the unofficial campsite was simply a rumour.

Re: Camping in Texas, Qld
The town would loose so many $$$$s spent by the free campers if Texas camp was closed, there has always been several staying when we have visited.
