Hi Folks I have this on another forum as well hoping some one can enlighten me ???
My fridge I have turned it on , about three months since it was last on .
It has been on now for 4 days the temp in the freezer is MINUS 34 but the fridge department wont go below 12Degs.
I have two temp gauges in for comparison and the both read the same .
We have some food in the fridge mainly drinks and veg , the freezer has some frozen goods in it .
ALL the food and drinks were COLD before putting in .
The compressor is not turning off its running all the time I have tried it both on 12v and 240v and at different temp ratings at the thermostat .
Any thought on what my problem is ?
Bernie .

Re: My fridge problem .
Is it a Waeco? Friends had exactly the same problem with one brand new out of the box. Apparently a blockage in the tubes, in their case Waeco just replaced it. With a 3 ay fridge the go is to turn it upside down, then right way up and a few rolls thrown in for good measure, no idea if that would work for a compressor fridge though. The compressor not turning off is usually a thermostat problem so.... As far as the fridge, does the evaporator feel cold at all?

Bernie I just had a thought! Yes, strange but .............
Are you SURE you're reading the thermometer in C or F?

Outside figures are F and inside is C.

Re: My fridge problem .
The evaporator is the cooling panel on the back wall inside the fridge Bernie, does that feel cold to the touch? It isn't covered in a sheet of ice is it, that has really strange effects on fridge cooling as it acts as an insulator and allows the fridge interior to heat up.

Re: My fridge problem .
But it can pull the fridge part down to 12*C, so it is sort of working. Bob (Bob & Bev) knows a lot more about these low voltage fridges but maybe it is down on gas, not empty but not enough to fully function.BernieQ wrote:No ice inside the fridge Terry .

Re: My fridge problem .
Bernie, I am going to assume that it is a 2 door fridge? Is the main door sealing properly? I had a domestic fridge once that the door somehow managed to get a twist in it and wouldn't seal. All the cold air fell out the bottom. You can check the seal tension with strips of paper. Once I fixed the bent hinge all was well again.
Cheers
