fairbairn Dam

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

“In South East Queensland, redclaw are classed as non-indigenous, so no size or possession limits apply in the region.

“It is an offence to return a redclaw crayfish to the water if caught, to use them as bait or to place them in dams or ponds without the relevant permits.

“This also means that egg bearing females and juvenile redclaw must be kept,” he said.

“A maximum penalty of $220 000 applies to those found releasing or returning redclaw to dams or waterways without the appropriate permit.”

Keep your pants on. I just said they weren't a "PEST"

They are a native animal.

I repeat "It is only in stocked impoundments' outside their natural range that there are no bag limits"

And to answer your question, yes you should check all rules for whatever location you fish in. Various fishery management plans and zoning requirements have different rules throughout the country

I don't think so, Redclaw are a freshwater species and crabs that could eat them live in the salt. Barra on the other hand love them :) and I love catching and eating all three :D

Can't eat shellfish and have never eaten fresh Barra, don't trust the shops when they say "fresh" of anything these days esp fish.

Don't blame you, we still get a bit of fresh reef and estuary fish and crabs of course but most prawns and Moreton Bay bugs and Barra have been frozen.

Some Banana Prawns we get here from the Gulf are over 12 moths old

Most of the good quality stuff goes overseas, mind you we wouldn't pay what they get for it in Hong Kong

Chuck we shall make sure that there are a couple of bags in the bottom of the Engel for July. Over 200 again to-day & we hear for another week. Be good it there is going to be someone up there with a boat as they have also been plentiful up there.
