USB & HDMI ???? what are these

Post by Dot »

OK here comes another dumb grey question. Have been told to try a USB or HDMI on the tv to see if the pixilation prob disappears. WTF are USB & HDMI ????

input options, USB is the flattish cable typically used on computers, memory sticks etc.
HDMI is a high definition cable and plug pair usually linking dvd, blueray or other gizmo to your TV

Dot, There is no such thing as a dumb question. Some of us do provide dumb answers though. You be the judge. USB means Universal Serial Bus And HDMI means High Definition Multi media Interface. If you are getting pixelated inteference on your TV then I doubt that using either of these as a connection medium would be of any benefit. I would suggest that the best solution would be to track down the cause of the pixelation. At our place and in the old Coaster it usually always meant that there was a capacitor doing some switching across the incoming 240 volt circuitry. What type of inverter/s do you have???

Edit: I see Bagmaker has posted while I was typing.

This was another suggestion from the customer care people after we had done the "manufacturers tune". It isn't as bad as it was before doing that but this last thing had us beat :)

Hi George,

Thanks for the reply.

Have you tried checking the other input sources, such as the HDMI or USB ports, to see if the issue remains present?

Please get back to me and I'll be happy to assist you further.

If the problem is with the actual display on the TV and not the receiver section, using a different source of images will help show that.
If you have a recorder/DVD player etc, it might be connect to the TV using HDMI.
If you have a memory stick with your honeymoon photos on it, you can usually plug it into the USB port and play the photos as a slodshow.

If you can do either of these and the TV has good pictures without the problem, an interference of turner problem is indicated.
If you get cr..p pictures form you alternative input sources, the problem is likely to be with the display section.

The "help" line people are trying to make sure that the problem is with the TV and not the installation.

Pixilation problems are usually in the turner/antenna/antenna cable areas.

Honeymoon, stick, and memory shouldn't all go in the one sentence, should they?
