3way fridge amps

Post by shonky »

Hi, all.

I'm having a disagreement with a fridge expert who states that a Dometic RM 2350 90ltr unit draws no more than eight amps while on 12 volt. All contributions welcome.

BTW this fellow is "old school" and tests for gas leaks with a cigarette lighter...

More like 15 while it is running but might average out at 8 per day - depending ..............

Hi, all.

Steve W. - had a look at the manual, yes, should have before, and it states 175w which translates to 14.5amps.
BernieQ - I thought it stayed on, but if it cycles to an average 8amps it's not quite so bad. Especially if the solar panels are adjusted for moonlight...

Well, they are thermostatically controlled but 12v struggles so it might run flat out non stop.

Hi, all.

SteveW - I met a Jayco owner a year or two ago who threw out 2 pair of AGM's in the first month before he realised what was up.

At Inverell I encountered a bloke who didn't understand lithium batteries and feared they might give problems out West where nobody could fix them. Threw them out.
