Hella light gaskets

Post by bagmaker »

Does anyone know where one could obtain new gaskets for this type of light?

a few of mine have more a requirement of goldfish than electricity.
The whole assembly is not too dear but I only need the gasket to rainproof the new LED inerds.
Or perhaps could I make them out of something??

We got to the stage of drilling drain holes in the lenses when I was still working in the bus yards. If you use silicon to seal the gasket to the lens, cable and another bit over the screw it stops the water pouring in, but the whole thing is a throw away if you ever need to get the lens off again  In the end we would fit a new bulb, glue it in place with silicon, spray everything with WD40, drill drain holes and put them back together. The globe glued in with silicon seemed to survive the longest, maybe it absorbed some of the vibration or something

You can not buy just a gasket, but these fit in the same holes :) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301814022904 ... EBIDX%3AIT

How about trying Loctite Master Gasket? If you put a thin smear of grease on the backing plate it will only stick to the lens, making it easily removeable if you ever need to.
