tank level sensors

Post by bagmaker »

OK, tank levels time
What do we have, what do we like and what do we NOT like?
I have a couple of fresh tanks, a grey and a black in design phase.
What sensors and displays should I use???

We've had a "Micropulse Systems Monitor" for 10 years now and it hasn't missed a beat. It can handle two fresh water tanks, a grey water tank, a black water tank , LPG tank (if you have a suitable tank) and battery voltage monitoring. It reports in 1/8 increments. There are a couple of other features and it provides both audible and visual signals, including alerts when things are getting too full or too low. The sensors have never required any attention.

We love it!

I dont mind the look and theory of the micropulse system, @idexnz, thanks for that!
They use a different system to most, merely a pressure sensor for each tank. reviews seem mixed but web reviews often are.
Might have to do an arduino thing. Not that I can now, but might have to learn for a good reason now!

Tech Edge. Really good system sticks onto the side of the tanks with silver foil so no holes even reads through poly tanks. Really good people to deal with and can't recommend them highly enough. Even sent me addition foil for free without being asked as I hadn't indicated the tank sizes. American company and quick to reply to any query. https://www.tankedge.com/

Thanks Dirk -no issues with the sticky coming off the side of a poly tank - that would be my biggest worry with that sort of system but I see the manufacturer offer an internal style probe too.
