simple little umbilical hernia operation. Quick slit, insert a mesh to support and you are a winner just not allowed to lift for a month afterwards so I planned a nice scenic road trip to SA with my 8 yo daughter to see her 22 yo brother. Waited for school hols but on departure day was feverish, wound looked angry. Went to local GP and antibioticked up. Road trip with daughter too important. Was actually going to stop here and there on the way home for a cuppa. Our hospital system is in a lot of trouble.hope you are on the mend now.

But wasn't feeling too flash.
Got back on a sunday and presented myself in ER monday for warranty. Straight to a bed young man, no food for you either you bad boy.
Parolled 6 (7?) days later now sans mesh, much bigger scar, daily nurse visits for dressing and a box full of whoppee pills.
And dont lift anything for 6 more weeks.
And high percentage to get the same hernia back again as its only sewn up.

The wife, angel as she is -works part time in palliative care. Very grounding luckily, puts things into perspective and keeps me on track after shyte like this. Daughter loved the road trip so it was worth it, 1 on 1 time at the perfect age.
Bus is sitting cooling its heels until I feel so couped up something -anything- has to be done to it. Should be a couple of degrees warmer at least!
Apologies for any foolish sounding posts in the last weeks but geez, a month of Endone now..... Lucky I ain't the addictive type

So where am I now? Right here on earth, thankfully
