OK so far.
Hosp has provided walking frame. Getting a good upper-body workout pushing up from seat to frame.
SWMBO has used Perth's excellent public transport system to go shopping etc.
Do you know, in Perth you can actually board a bus or go to a rlwy stn with CASH & buy a ticket!!
And pensioners travel FREE off-peak!
Someone should tell the Vic govt.
Coulda saved squillions by not introducing the MYKI system.
With MYKI you can't travel on any PT w/out a plastic card ($6 up front, ta muchly) which you then have to pre-load with a credit balance -- online only. Tough if you're an elderly w/o access to the interweb!
Interstate/international visitors are not exempt. No card: no travel!
I like the WA system better.

Re: Not Quite WA Wildflower territory
We used the train when in Perth on one day, parked the LC in car park, walked 200 metres to buy ticket, walked back to place on dash, retraced my steps walked over expressway to catch train to Perth station, could have driven there and back in the time it took but did not have to worry about parking the vehicle though.
Visited the Perth mint and paid $4 for an hour parking
Kings Park is a great place to visit on a sunny day and parking is free as long as you do not leave Kings Park, do not know how that is enforced.

Re: Not Quite WA Wildflower territory
Well, we're back home.
Feeling more relaxed & comfortable. Good thing we're within walking distance of main shopping street. SWMBO can walk to buy the essentials: bread, milk etc.
Friend is driving her to Wangaratta on Sat for the Big Shop to re-stock pantry. Inconvenient that we expected to unload Girt's pantry back into house, but Girt won't be delivered back to home until about 22nd.
Range of movement in Right leg is gradually improving. Pain management is the big thing at the moment.
Hobbling about the house with an 'old lady' type walking frame. Determined that will be temporary...
Much support from local & church community.

Keep up the physo Ray. This time next year you will be reporting on those WA wildflowers. Check out the "old man" walkers Ray they are easier to control!!

It's good to hear that you are home safe. Ditto to what Dot said.

When recovering from my broken femur I found bike riding to be the best exercise.
