I haven't had an 8ZED inverter last long enough to actually make a comment about how well it worked, the first one lasted a week, the second a day and the third I gave to Brian as it is still in the box, so it has lasted the longest  The first 2 were 12v and this one is 24v so I didn't actually have a use for it.
The grinder may start up at 850w and settle to 450w, but once it is under load it will go higher than the 850w start up, you just can't hear it scream over the angle grinder noise. A 1,000w angle grinder will test the strength of a 1,000w inverter, anything other than a quality unit will either shut down or die, so I'm guessing you are murdering the inverters, they are not just dieing. Watch out for fluro lights as well, the ballast capacitor pulls huge loads momentarily on the inverter on first start up, they are a major inverter killer if the inverter is not well nd truly over rated to the normal run load.

Hi, all.

T.I.Terry - looks like no news is good news. BTW I only use the grinder about 5 minutes per month to cut 1.5mm alloy, and this particular inverter spat the dummy after the washing machine was used for about 40 minutes. we have no fluoros.
