Re: Our first holiday away in a while
We aren't sure we can afford another trip to Rutherglen, Warrabilla drained the bank account to the tune of a grand or so last visit on the trip home after the Lake Illawarra house sale.
We are busy killing brain cells with a mix of a free fruit juice mix that came with a Subway breakfast and something call Bundaberg Tropics, tastes like fruit juice but I'm already feeling a bit right handed after just a few glasses.... as usual, they talk nonsense on the bottle, 13 standards drinks my a...se, we will be lucky to get 5 out of the bottle
A full baked dinner is being prepared, baked beans, sausages and eggs, the van is warming nicely, the mozzies are dropping from the ceiling from either the gas fumes or the alcohol so a grand night is in he making...... a football game on eh, probably need a TV to see that sort of stuff, but isn't that on Sunday? The grand final of field ballet aka aerial Ping-Pong must be on soon as Victoria appeared to be closed today in preparation, they take their cultural events seriously that lot

Re: Our first holiday away in a while
Bruce made no firm appointment and I had better offers for the afternoon.
Two mates from Orange (we played in the band together) and also met at Blazeaid a couple of times called up as they were embarking on a cruise on the Murray Princess. Waited most of the afternoon and they arrived at 3:30 on the bus and had to be on board before 4:00 so a quick trip up to the bakery and then back to the Princess.
Then I went out to the waterfall to get some pickies and spend over an hour there so that was the end of the day.

Re: Our first holiday away in a while
We are at a camp ground at the mouth of the Fitzroy River in the Tyrendarra Coastal Reserve. Very wet here and predicted to get even wetter tomorrow afternoon, so hoping to be home by then, had enough of travelling the rain for a while. There is a lo of flooded paddocks all the way along the highway, areas where it looks like there normally is no water now has lakes and fast running streams draining one to the next, now they are expecting even more rain. there is a big rig here that I'm guessing will be here until it dries out, I can't see anything getting in here that could drag it out without removing fences and removing the roadside scrub, the river is on the other side of the track.

Re: Our first holiday away in a while
Still OK in Mannum but you watch Terry will appear and so will the rain.
They cant come back yet as I am having fun in MY man cave LOL.
Wood dust everywhere and the smell of varnish in the air
Man heaven.
Spent yesterday afternoon visiting the Murray Princess again. They traveled down stream then returned for two hours then left for upstream.
Friends did a Terry and went for a walk on the bank in the morning while the crew cleaned up and next minute the Princess went sailing by while they were still walking LOL.
They rang Adelaide office and it said if emergency press 1!!!!???? OH yes right office not manned til 8:00 and this was before 7:30 so there goes the Princess UP river without some guests. Finally get the office and then they have to ring the Princess and they sent the tender back to get them. Hows that for customer control. Let them hop off and dont make sure they are on again before slipping the ropes.
At Mannum there was someone at the gang plank checking who went off and who returned. Apparently there is a shakeup in order.
Back to the waterfall and the water is going down but hundreds of tourist and apparently a lot can not read as they had broken a fence with a "Please don't enter Private Property" sign attached, and there were dozens of people on the other side crawling every where. One fella said that he has always gone out there and a sign would not stop him. Would have loved to see a big wild bull coming over the hill.
One camera playing up so many of the long shots were a bit dark but got a few so happy and will wait till next week as there is more rain coming. OH be glory to that fella in the sky whatever you believe in LOL
