Comparitive fuel prices

Post by TigerMK1 »

Just for something to do,
I compared todays fuel prices at the pump in California. this is with no bullshit peaks & troughs, they don't have that crap.
USA per gallon $3.35 that means a aussie price of $0.89/litre without allowing the parity situation.
Shows the aussie's are being well and truley screwed. I have heard a wisper that if and when Cosco arrives, they will sell fuel (if they can get distribution upand running) for $0.90/liter.

The US don't pay world parity pricing, they are the world in their minds
check the difference in the price of propane or auto gas in Aust to the rest of the world, then you will see rediculous. The US aren't taxed at the bowser as well as every step of the way during production, that is another factor to consider.

I've read of some countries where they almost give it away, 50c gallon etc.

How ever I don't want to live there.

No democracy, roads, elections, schools, health care, must be a wonderful place as they have cheap fuel.

If all the taxes we pay for fuel were spent on our roads, we would have gold plated roads were ever we travelled.

Diesel was $1.85 here a few years ago, and I for one was happy to be able to get it. But it is our right as Aussies to bitch about the price.
