Has anyone seen an indoor unit that hangs from the roof I haven't got any wall space to hang one and a cassette is over the moon . TIA

Graeme what about those caravan ones that mount underneath the caravan and just have the air outlet on the front or side of the bed or bottom cupboard of the pantry etc? Friend in Murray Bridge fitted one to a single axle poptop & was very impressed with it.

Ran. The old clunker on the roof today used 20% of 400 amps in 3/4 hr thought it was a bit much when you hear of people getting heaps more than that

The harrier inverter rooftop unit is a reasonable option. If you are getting 50amps out of your solar, then it will only draw another 30 to be in cooling mode, depending on how cold you want to have the inside. Put it at least 2m away from where you sit. That will make a big difference in noise levels
Dont let whoever installs it glue it to the roof with that bloody silicone stuff. Or overtighten the mounts. Switch the begger on before the bus heats up and it will easy maintain cool.They are not whisper quiet, but with careful install you can be down round 48db inside, and most of that is noise from wind movement. You cant stop it simply because of design constraints

I did it I got a 2.5 kelvenator split inverter . Thinking of pulling out te back window build an alloy box thing and shove it there and mount the external one on the rear bar .

Dibs, that may not work. Have a look at the head when it's out of the box.
You'll need to consider how the air is drawn in cooled and blown out. If it's in a box, it might just loop some of the cool air around and not cool the van.
