HMMmmm...Paramountcruiser wrote:Does the town have a railway heritage ?
Should I answer the dead-giveaway question?
Others have suggested a maritime heritage...

Have a guess, Neil, and I'll tell you if you're close.

It's Cigar Time again!!Paramountcruiser wrote:Peterborough ?

Congratulations, Neill!
EVENTUALLY someone figured it out...
The piston is mounted in what remains of the round-House at Peterborough's "Steam Time" Museum. It's alongside some pretty impressive steam & diesel locos, which is probably why most people walk right by without noticing it.
It formed part of the diesel engine in the loco alongside it... forget which one, and didn't get a pic.
Humungous, ain't it?

Re: Where is this?
OK,
Here's one to ponder upon...
At least you know the camera was pointing west... so how come there's water and bush?
(Click on it for a better view. I know it's dark. I was exposing for the sky.
)
Clue: It's NOT a lake or a river.

Re: Where is this?
NUP! The nearest water there was a creek about 120km south!.
The time before that, I fell out of the m/h because SWMBO polluted my Glenfiddich with frozen water!
(Didn't get a pic of that.
)
PS: Not Walpole Inlet... wrong state.
Now there's a BIG clue.
