But only when trying to miss a kangaroo, wombat, emu, camel, wild pig, goats, cows, and of course those dam wriggly sticks. Put it this way Mr Grizz, I reckon you would be safer on the other side of the road than in our yard :) :) :)

Dodging the wildlife is a problem only if you travel around sunrise/sunset...
Not a prob for us... we're camped well before sundown/have a late-ish start of a morn. :D
As far as camping close to your neighbour (that's a 'neighbor' to you, Mr Grizz ;)), we had a funny experience at a roadside rest area en route from Adelaide to Alice Springs.
Pulled in, two other caravans, side-by-side. We set up about 50~75 metres away from them to have a little quiet-time.
Just on sunset a wizz-bang ('campervan', Mr Grizz) pulls in and parks practically under our awning!
I strolled over (didn't take long ;)) and said 'hello' to the driver, who had a very strong German accent to his English.
The conversation went like this:
'You've probably noticed by now, this is a pretty big country.'
'Yah, ve haf.'
'Yair, well, we'd like our share of it.'
[Puzzled look on driver's face]
'You might need to crowd together where you come from, mate, but in this country we don't park so close to our neighbours.'
'Oh, you vant I shoult move?'
'That's a good idea, sport. Over there, near the caravans.'
So he drove over and parked 2 metres off the vans.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Stems from their early life, scared to be on their own in the dark in case the boogie man comes and hacks em to death then feeds their bodies to the blood thirsty dingoes (never to be seen again) :) :) :) :)
