Ah, so you have seen the video too !

George I am going to try and follow that design as close as possible and it seems the feed tube actually goes to the bottom if you look closely. It may be easier to have the chimney "drop in" to something made to receive it.
I believe the air tube should be wider than the second T1 link and go all the way into the seat of the fire. Thought about 1' mesh which we have plenty of but that would not allow the air to travel all the way in without disturbance.
Will also give some thought to trying to spread the heat a bit, otherwise only good for something like a frying pan that you can move around. Just must be careful not to cut down on the airflow.

A couple of things caught my attention in this next stove demo and I reckon they look easy enough to make.... the rocket stove that is  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGeFUDVYDq0

Good stoves to consider T1 and the sales girl did very well

The one the 2 moons were pointing at Lance
That pipe stove could be made into a collapsible compact unit if the outer jacket was removed or even slots in the chimney pipe allowing flow into the outer pipe, no insulation filling and a much larger opening at the top, or even a sealed top and a chimney out the side or the larger pipe.
The mesh with holes for the fire plate in the bottom looks like a far better design as that would allow the wood to burn all the way down the feed tube releasing more gas for the fire and leaving charcoal for the bottom of the fire pot section.

Taking T1's expert assessment of a 44 double D cup and extrapolating those measurements I now have a starting point, will cut some steel later today and see how we go, it is not worth trying to make it foldable or collapsible, not big enough to worry.

This is our rocket firepit. Works quite well and quite easy to make, so little fuel required.

Don't have my cord to get pic from my phone but have one of fire, but it all stays down the bottom, the air chute under the fuel shelf does all the heavy lifting. Didn't get hot enough to burn the gal off so had to do with torch.
As a light fuel device to cook a meal, tops, as a firepit for drinkies and conversation, dismal failure.
