I think it's just the stitching that holds the bit of material over the zipper has failed to do its job any more, some of my "no longer suitable for work" gear getting the last use before they are retired to the rag bag. I'll try to find the one from when Margaret was doing the under body area of the bus, face and clothing covered in bits of oily dirt and tar flakes from the wire brush, I think she might have used it for one of those sites where you have to have an avatar
