Thanks Bernie yes think its a bit different in a turbo. Repco suggest Nulon 15/40 or another suggestion was Penrite 20/60. Wish I could remember what I used previously ...to many to choose from. And I rarely had to put oil in

I wish...no Lance. I did a change while living and working in Coober Pedy when my Turbo spat the dummy then changed the last of the engine oil into a smaller container....

We use Castrol RX Super 15w.40 for heavy duty diesel engines.

Thats the way Im leaning at present Dot. There are a couple different types but must be compatable with Turbos and designed for older vehicles...

This oil was recommended by both our super mechanic and also by the tech dept of Castrol, our bus is old (1986/7) and also a turbo

Sorry but my experience with Castrol oil is such that I wouldn't use it in my busted ass lawn mower.
It's always very easy to tell an engine run on Castrol as soon as you pull the tappet cover off, always dirty brown stains and usually quite a bit of sludge.

However in saying that, if your engine is used to Castrol, don't change it or it will burn oil almost immediately.
Proved this a number of times.

It's well know in the industry that Castrol use the lowest grade of base oil they can get away with.

Anyway, just my 2c

Cheers,
Bernie B
