- the previous Q&A section for Candidates on the CMCA Forums will not apply in this election.
- instead the club website shall contain the Q&A.
- any questions on the CMCA forum or any other facility will not be considered.
- questions need to be forwarded by email.
I have two thoughts - questions or comments on the forum, should and would, be subject to moderation. The poo slinging starts pretty quickly in that place, implied or overt. Because the comments may be specific to election material from any candidate, moderation or censoring of the forum comments could lead to larger issues.

Second thoughts are that should a member email a question and that question is not displayed, for what ever reason, then the process would be open to a complaint of interference in the conduct of the election. I believe there are some pretty strict rules for election processes for board positions in private companies. Some might argue that interference is already in place. I am not sure that the website only publishing is a not disadvantage to the non-Interweb savvy members. Maybe all the comments and answers need to be published in the Wanderer, before closing of the election.

CMCA is kind of dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. A specific thread on the Forum, moderated by an external agency, to avoid partisan accusations) might be the answer.

Capital suggestion Izabarack. I would even be happy with a return to the previous forum Q&A, even with the usual heavy handed moderation in place. At least then forum members could see what is going on and make their judgements accordingly.

Sending questions by email to someone in NHQ, is akin to going out and leaving the cat in charge of the canary.

Elections as we know have many flaws, but to so blatantly introduce a process, which can be construed as having a bias is a distraction that clearly is counter productive to transparency. I can but wonder if the author of this tactic did not undertake due diligence, or even worse, considered the membership with disdain.

Hilarious, nothing changes with the CMCA, it just goes round and round in circles and the only ones that really benefit are those at the top and their cronies. Why anyone would class this company as a club is beyond me, it's a dictatorship, that sold out its members years ago and the forum is a complete joke, just reminiscent of a totalitarian state run by fools. Members have no say whatsoever, the election process and discussion forum is a joke you would only see on places like Nth Korea, Russia or china.

So glad we got out of it years ago and as for the insurance, you can get it cheaper elsewhere I'm told by ex CMCA members. It's very sad that such childish behaviour continues to seep in to CMCA discussions, but that seems the be the case since the members were conned into giving away their rights when the club became a company dictatorship and members shut out of every process add operational aspect. The only way a national club can function correctly, is if it is on line and controlled be the members that way. As it is it's really a Queensland club, bit representative of the whole of Aus at all.

No you're are 'slightly' wrong!
There is a democratic way to change things.
Keith & his helpers did find a way to change things the right way.
There are ASIC rules (that govern companies) that can be used by any financial member to achieve what you're attempting to do.
I'm not a member ... now.
Bitching & belly aching will achieve nothing except get the moderators & Admin of this forum so upset they'll go off their tucker for weeks!!

Quite an opportunity for change, this time. Two candidates are definitely old school and belong to that older time. Two others pushing for the organisation to get with the changed RV environment. Obvious policy development and better branding are needed, in my view.

The CMCA can still be a club doing for its members,as well as, the leading voice for self contained and responsible citizens.

Lets hope there is change, It's irrelevant to me now days, but know a few who are members and they like the interaction and fun they have in their sub branch if that's what they are called. But they hate the governance setup and are still trying to figure out how their club became a company and cut them out of being involved in decision making and direction.

Can't see it representing all it's members with the setup they have as a company, it's not inclusive at all and clubs can only be successful if they are inclusive of members and their wishes. Its the financial strength that keeps them going and what they supposedly offer. I still say the only success for mobile clubs with members scattered around they country, is online where everyone gets an equal say. Then a true direction for the members would be achieved, but everyone to their own and lots of people support it, which is all that counts.

It is a club and a corporation and we cannot go back. I would like the corporation to succeed as I get the benefits. I don't need the club so much as I have a pretty good circle of RVing friends.

One of the candidates could be good for both club and corporation. I have had a few one-on-ones with him and he does understand that the directors seem very hard to access. Bit hard for the board to do what the members want if they don't listen.

The only real way for change of focus to happen is if a lot more of the not-so-interested go involved in the voting process.
