Hit the jack pot - Pindappa Rock SA. On the Eyre Hwy. Mini Wave rock GORGEOUS.
This is a gorgeous place, Donation only, Views over the Gawler Ranges, toilets, BBQ's, Tables all in 2 camp spots directly around the rock as well as 2 or 3 other camp spots around it too.
15 km of dirt road in from Minnipa SA (where there is a Dump Point, water & loo's in the footy grounds) is crook with corrigation in some spots when we went but pretty good other parts. Well worth a stay short or long. sensational walks up the rock which has some real interesting weathering happening, lovely walk around it with different wave shapes. If you're lucky enough to go after rain the "pools on top fill up and cascade down the rock.

If you're looking for a few days spell before the long paddock go to Streaky Bay rather than Ceduna.
Streaky is classed as a no-no area for the indigenous people unlike Ceduna. Sacred ground or something.

Perlubie Beach near Streaky Bay is a good spot as well.
Good beach access, although not for a bus, 4WD or smaller vans are OK to get right onto the beach,
great fishing for small whiting / squid off the beach.
We loved Pildappa Rock, better than the others near there and nicer camp grounds with gas BBQ and solar shelter lighting at the right side of the rock.
