Hi Bobbobk wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2017 7:01 pm Good evening all. Well my previous post suggested they were going to repair the spring 'eyes' but in the end I have two new top leaves to the springs. The job completed, and with new front brake hoses, the people who did the work for me took the bus for it's re-inspection yesterday and it passed. I am one very happy man. Today I went to Motor Registry to register the bus and aside from a paperwork glitch that took too long to fix up, I walked out with three months rego and a wallet $830 dollars lighter. Sheesh. It is registered as a van until the unit can be called a motor home by the addition of (minimum) seats and a table, sleeping accommodation, cooking facilities and storage facilities. The registration costs will also then be lower. I don't know the cost of the work done for me yet, but I am happy that I had the work done as it was certainly beyond me and my facilities. I will pick up the bus on Monday, hopefully still smiling.

Crikey,
What did they register it as?
A bus or panel van?
How many seats does it have in it?

Re: Bob K's HINO RB
No Jon, that was just the repair job which included the spring top leaves, and the rear hangers and shackles. Apart from earlier damage to the hangers during a previous pin replacement, the swinging shackles were very worn, so they definitely needed replacement. The front hangers were ok (thank god) although they also replaced the pins and bushes. And not to forget the brake hoses priced at $72 each. Anyway its all a done deal, the bus is home, registered as a van (as in a goods carrying vehicle) and awaiting fit-out. Its going to be a bit of a wait before I get moving I think.

I forgot to say it has 5 seats including the driver's. Drivers is an Isringhausen and the passenger's are original school bus seats.
