Re: CMCA Elections 2017
So when are you throwing your bra into the lions den Mrs Justgarbage? I reckon that would be harder work than the suffragettes and their battles.
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.
Re: CMCA Elections 2017
Maryanne and I had an interesting bedtime chat last night. Maryanne said that she submitted a post over there which among other things mentioned the "members fuel discount issue". In the Candidates Q&A, candidates 3 and 4 indicated their support for such a proposal. Following that, the alarm bells must have rang because both Moderator 1 and Candidate 2 both tried to hose down a potentially vote winning issue. Candidate 2 appeared to be privy to previous undertakings in respect to securing a fuel discount for members. One can only speculate as to how Candidate 2 sourced such information. Anyway today the election debate is apparently firmly centred on fuel.
Addendum: Well Maryanne is in a quandary. She expressed support for candidates 3&4 over there. It was later brought to her attention that Candidate 2 quoted her post in a response and then went on to say, "it behoves us all to be truthful". I could comment but I won't.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall while the forum admins read all the PMs being fired back and forth

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
Admin should not be able to read and PMs other than their own.
PM are Personal/Private Messages.
To my knowledge Admins of phpBB forums have no way to read the PMs of others, and I'm sure they wouldn't want to.

Lance, I don't know about these phpBB forums but PMs can be read by forum owners/admin. on website based forums. Chat room log too.
Yes PMs are private messages between you and another member but, everything you type on someone's website is accessible by the owner.
Well, that is my experience.

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
Silly me, I was actually expecting a retraction and an apology from Candidate 2. As yet neither has occurred.

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
No, Admins & Mods can NOT see or read any PM's. I've been involved in several different software running forums.
Members passwords can NOT be seen either.
Asking Admin or Moderators to tell them what the password is will never work.
The software that the CMCA forum uses is unknown to me but I've been told it isn't an off the shelf product & "anything is possible".
I dare so even the moderators don't know?
Only Admin would know!

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
Bruce about the "anything being possible" over there, would the website owner have any obligation to make a privacy disclosure to members?
I hope you understand my meaning as I have not explained it very well.

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
I'm only guessing but there is usually a "privacy disclosure" on most websites. This only means that YOUR privacy is protected in the sense that no private information that you disclose will be ever passed on to any 3rd party.
Mostly referring to credit or debit card info.
Private addresses (Postal or residential)
Date of birth and any other identifying info.
I prefer to not discuss anything regarding CMCA or the way they do things.
Martin or some other member will not either be forthcoming I presume.
If you don't like blue vein cheese ..... stay away from it!! (makes me crook too)
