Bernie,
On the other side of the drum thingy where it attaches to the compressor.
There should a slip adjustment. The manual shows one for the engine with out an compressor. I can't see a reference to one with the compressor.

Oil catch tank is the go, heaps on evil bay https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odk ... n&_sacat=0 ranging in all sorts of prices and sizes. Had a bit of a laugh at the capacity of some being offered, this baby holds 2 ltrs http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2L-Aluminum- ... SwVL1V~0dH and recommended for the Nissan 4 x 4
Can't believe the timing marks are on a balancer that locks on with a taper lock and a very small keyway to locate it correctly on the crank. The ones I worked on in the bus yards must have all been doctored with the marks clearly indicated on the flywheel. Besides the bugga of crawling under the thing to pry the ring gear around with a screw driver, it made setting up the injector pump and setting the tappets a heap easier.

Jon,
Your attachment is too small and doesn't expand. That is apart from having to turn the screen on it's side. When I resize attachments for display i use image resizer and set as shown below.

Morning all , done a bit more today knee feeling a bit better .
I've been removing things that are just in the way to tight in there not remove them .
Took the air lines from the compressor off they must of been done up by Arni his self %^* few more bruise's to the arms .
I decided to take the top of the old compressor off that will give me a bit more room to get at the bolts on the injector when I get to it .
Wouldn't you think that they would have designed it so when all the dots are lined up the compressor would be at top dead centre....NO..had to do a 180 on the crank . there is a requirement for the piston to be at TDC so you can remove the circlip (fix that Bruce) so you can get the pin out .
There was oil on top of the compressor piston as seen in the first photo (not good quality ) its the dark bit .
The other two pics are as one can see the top of the compressor ( head barrel and piston )
And NO it would be near on impossible to just change the top with my new compressor Its almost to hard to put the old one back together on the bench .
Tools down for the rest of the day yard needs a mow .
