Dot,
You're telling tales out of school... :(
I'da missed the little bugger if he/she hadn't hesitated for a quick squiz at this big white thing bearing down on it...
Shoulda followed mummy obediently... and quickly. By the time it took its next (final) leap it was too late.

And Bruce,
While I may now be walking unaided on BOTH legs, skipping is something I had to abandon in primary school.

My hair wasn't long enough to join the girls. ;)

earlier today us 4 old fogies went for a walk around town, then tonight we drove down to the pub for a meal and it was a great meal as well. Bought the usual meat tray raffle ticket but as usual neither of us won it but we have been invited to the bowls club for the learners game tomorrow   Bob I reckon it may still be here but there is a baby maggie that comes calling each day might be the bombers offspring..

Dottie is more into the spiked shoes like golfers wear so she doesn't slip when bowling a Yorker...... not sure I'd like to be the batsman facing one of those out of round black balls with the rings on the sides ........or even the wicket keeper for that matter..... :?

Well at the designated time to be at the bowls club yesterday arvo at 1pm we walked into the bowls club only to be stared at by the whole membership starting their AGM so we sat quietly in the intruders corner until a lady came and told us they wouldn't be starting until 3pm so off we slinked and decided to do a walk about the other site up the road a bit only to spy a MH with a small black pipe (grey) going off towards the creek BUT then I spotted the bigger diameter hose (black) heading to the river as well.. While Ray and I pretended to be taking pics of the local wildlife Ray got a couple of pics of the suss hoses. We then returned to camp had our BBQ tea then spotted a neighbour had a lovely fire going so we picked up our chairs and glasses and told the man we had come to share his fire as he looked very lonely all by himself. He a was a good egg and we got on fine so I gave him a forum card  Couple of hrs later we said goodnight and headed for home. This morning the council man came a collecting so Ray showed him the pics of the black hoses and left him with what to do..After lunch we went down to the museum for Ray & Joy to do their thing and we went and got our mail where G was offered a relieving job at the PO :) Came home had a cuppa then a nannanap a couple of drinks then tea time. Mozzies out tonight so we headed indoors quick smart. Now time to catch up with you lot then some tv may be in order.. Tomorrow our neighbours are departing towards Dysart so be warned Tanks.. :)

Dot has it pretty well down pat. So I'll just add that 'doing our thing' at the museum was a bit more than walking about looking at old military stuff.
When we visited Meandarra in 2015 for the ANZAC Centenary dawn service, we noted that the museum here ("a million dollar museum in a fifty dollar town" as one of the locals put it) had one volume of the Melbourne Herald Sun's post-war series of six books: 'The First Year of War in Pictures', 'The Second Year of War in Pictures', 'The Third...' . You get the picture. (pardon the pun. )
We had all six volumes, collected from the Parental Home after SWMBO's parents passed away. They had been gathering dust on our bookshelves for more than 25 years. So we decided they'd be of more use in a museum with an attached library.
We missed the 2016 ANZAC dawn service due to my medical appointments...
We missed the 2017 ANZAC dawn service due to my inability to walk without a walking frame.
We FINALLY managed to get away a week ago, heading for Cairns for a holiday with Son-and-Heir and his family... so we decided to swing by Meandarra to donate the books.
We did it today, and the Librarian/Museum Curator was most pleased to accept them.
They are in virtually pristine condition, and the librarian is sure that researchers will find them a valuable resource. Schoolchildren will also benefit from access to them. It will show them exactly what WW11 was about.

We might head on tomorrow, then again, we might stay another day. :D
Tanks, we are on our way... sometime soon. ;)
Regards & God bless,
Ray

They have left the campground 1045hrs.
Getting very warm now, expecting 30deg, and my pussy will not like that at all.
