the club still gets a slice of the action which is OK by me
and that is the issue, whether it worked well for the membership was an unknown and remains that way, just as long as the $$ still came in made it the correct choice if the new club/company direction is profit before membership...... This clearly indicates the club/company is now headed in a direction other than the of original CMCA. For those happy with that then the club/company still suits them, for those not happy with this change of direct and manipulating of the rules that allows a non motorhome owner to be part of the board that makes decisions for motorhome owners the club/company no longer suits. The question remains, is/will the incoming membership be sufficient to make up the losses? Unless the company starts being a little more transparent when it comes to such information the question will still remain, is the genuine membership still high enough to warrant the company status, or could it return to club status? There could be good reason why such information is not available, never looks good when the membership numbers are going backwards and even worse if the board of directors ends up in a fight to justify its own existence ;)

Clearly not being a member of the company and not having access to it's private affairs then whether or not it works would be unknown to you. If you would like to see change then that is best achieved from within not from afar and taking pot shots.

Terry were you suggesting that the CMCA should have purchased the KT insurance company?

One has to wonder why x & non members even bother with what is or is not happening within an organisation that they don't belong to is beyond me

Would have to agree with your comment and also wonder why. I was a member once with the CMCA, but when we sold our motorhome we reverted to an associate member until our membership expired as we are not travelling now (apart from short car travels). So what happens now with the CMCA is there business and not for me to interfere or infer anything.

I was a long term member at the time, that move was the last straw for me. The fact I am still a motorhome owner, traveller and have close ties with the RV community through our business it very much effects the potential future of a life style I find close to my heart.
There are two ways to effect change, fight against the odds from within or bring pressure from outside to force a change. You don't need to be a member of govt to force a change of direction, just enough outside pressure.
Anyway, all this is just chit chat and only gets people's backs up on either side of the fence and that isn't what this forum is all about. There was enough of that on the other forums to satisfy anyone's need for that sort of stuff so I'm bowing out of this thread. I think Bruce was correct when he said any mention of the CMCA raised the red flag to the bull in either paddock ;)
