Vik, there are some commercially available domestic systems around but they just "T" into the flush tube between the cistern and bowl, with the fan unit mounted high enough so that no water will access it when flushing. This option is not practical on the newer toilet sets with integrated ceramic cistern placed directly at the rear of the pan. We are currently in the process of building a new base to winter over and have yet to purchase the toilet - So I still may have an opportunity.

Cheers

That way in the link is the go then if your building, sucks through the top of the cistern then all around in the pan through the water holes utilising the flush pipe... Unlike the Smell Of Gas set-up where your nuts get sucked down into the cassette cos the air flow is concentrated into one spot...

vik... hope this helps...

Save your money Vik. Unless you are having bad smells coming up from the cassette when flushing then why bother. They are simply an extraction fan that draws air down through the toilet to help prevent smells coming back up from the cassette. They do nothing for the the treatment of the effluent. A true SOG system will draw the air through the effluent which increases the oxygen level and aids the break down process. These systems simply draw air down the toilet and out through a filter. I have experienced these systems during a happy hour when the toilet was used and the stench was terrible. So much for charcoal filter. Maybe it needed changing. But where your cassette is located can also be a problem. If you simply want it to help the treatment of the effluent then I suggest biomagic will suffice.

I have to put my 2bobs worth in here ,when we had the Longreach ,without the SOG ,SWAMBO would use the loo and the smell was pretty
eye watering  ,through the house ,then i installed a SOG and there was no more smell in the house ;) ,the smell would waft somewhere
else ,or someone else to enjoy , :D but not in the house .. :D

It didn't particularly break down the solids but it did take the smell outside, which is a good thing ;)
The Espie doesn't have a SOG system at present because it hasn't been used that much ,but next year will tell.
