what I meant was like this;

On the Isuzu, the reverse switch has one wire. The circuit is: +12>> light >>> switch >> to earth via the switch case.

So, when I select reverse, the switch closes and 'connects' the earth though the casing.


Does your reverse switch have one or two wires?

Ya its a two wire switch, sits atop the gearbox.
