By the way the fridge is exceeding my expectations and the basic child lock door restraints are still working perfectly. Have been out of commission for the last few weeks having successfully had a cancerous prostate gland removed and still in recovery mode.

Thanks Terry. Everything is on track and we have tenants moving into our house long term as from November 25th. Back to full time grey nomads and enjoying the benefits of bountiful solar and lithium power to spare.
Cheers

This is a little off topic
What is a simple explanation for using the newer inverter fridge rather than older style compressor refrigerator - is it that you can get by with a smaller wattage 12/240v inverter or is it purely that they are more energy efficient and have less of a draw on house batteries

Pretty well both I reckon but the main thing is there is no HIT on startup. It's a slow wind up to just the speed needed. It's like a variable speed motor. The old compressors are simply go flat out & then stop. (all day & night)
Smaller inverter... yes. 300w will run one.

Re: Samsung 255lt Inverter Fridge Installation.
When you consider the fridge supply inverter needs to run 24/7 it makes sense to use a smaller unit if possible. If you have a range of other things that need to run 24/7 as well then the only real benefit is the quieter running and reduced energy use, although with the softer start even an inverter running near its capacity some of the time will still function as required where a hard start non inverter fridge would sometimes kick the inverter out on overload requiring the other load to be turned off while the fridge got going. Things like the microwave or roof top rattler will also run off the likes of a Projecta IP2000 which has a very low stand by draw when nothing is running.Eddy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 1:40 am This is a little off topic
