Our thoughts are with you Dot, we're still waiting to come across our new four legged ( stowaway? ) family member, we know it will be right when it happens. Still remember your words to us re stowaways. :)

On another subject, have finally got a floor layer who will begin it on Friday. Should see you in about a week or so, anything you need from your sisters?

She is very happy Dot, going with her first choice the Jarrah floating floor. Still trying to sort out the photos. Took the digital camera to take some more because I know I can post them. :)

Typical, wouldn't start up, why?, we had forgotten to take out the batteries when we got home last time and one had leaked and gone all crusty. After an extensive session of the blame game, "we" both decided it was my fault.

What a mess, have cleaned it up as best I could then used some vinegar to neutralise it, seems and looks ok, we'll see. I hope the vinegar was the way to go, I'm sure Terry will set me straight if not. :?

Will have room in the fridge no problems, just let me know and I'll give her a ring and pick it up.

We're both raring to go, because of the delays we're heading straight to Strath, looking forward to a good supper or two, can't wait.

Once you get the terminals clean, some WD40 or similar on a cotton bud and wipe all the terminals over to create a bit of a protective barrier. Ideally you would use Wurth OS and OL contact to clean and protect but at $140 odd for the two little spray tins WD40 and baking soda or vinegar applied with a cotton bud will do. Don't use a spray tin of contact cleaner, my Fuji 5000 is a melted mess after an over enthusiastic son decided to fix mine for me

That's right Terry, blame the sprog  Both of us had our yearly eye check ups and both doing well for old farts and no changes needed to our glasses.. :D Then we headed for the food place of course, what is acceptable these days?? We ordered a ham & cheese toasted sandwich, a coffee and a vanilla milk shake.. The lady asked what name to call when it was ready and so we went and sat down.. 10 minutes later a coffee is placed on the bench and they called "Beaumont" and G went to get his coffee. A few minutes later I got presented with a milkshake in a plastic container with a straw in it, then when I saw another customer take a toasted sandwich from the bench over with some other bits, I watched her and she gave the toasted sandwich to the other lady but she was looking at it with a question mark on her face so I guessed it was not hers but G's so I went to the counter and asked where was our long overdue toasted sandwich?? Just then the lady bought the toastie she had taken and then the lady serving said Oh she wanted just a cheese toastie this is yours... I just looked at her and she then said "I guess you don't want this one?" and with that I said "No thank you".. So she had to do another one.. What I am getting at is, Why do they have to yell your name out for you to go and get your order? why did I get my drink in a plastic take away container? and why the cock up and then have the cheek to ask if we wanted a cold second hand toastie that we had to go and get from the counter again?? We paid top price, and it was a sit down food place.. Why do they bring your cup of coffee before your food and why not bring it all together to you at a numbered table??? Anyway thats my bitch for the day... Then we went out to the animal shelter to drop off all the blankets etc for the many animals there When I handed the box of the boys things over the droplets fell again but the ones at the shelter can use all the help they can.. happy now.. :D :D :D

trhey mustn't be doing as hard over a SA as they are here, the service around here is very good these days, everyone is scratching for what every business they can get.

Thanks for the info Terry, the vinegar cleaned it up well and have now used the WD 40 as suggested and all works well. :D

Dot, You just had the Gloria Jeans speshul (lack of) service.
They do the give us your name thing, all over the country. Now I am awake to it I usually say my name is Fred (after all its nobody elses business who I am). I think their logic is that it makes you feel they "care" when the use your name.

Like you, I hate the experience and am only too happy to have table service at the overinflated prices that the particular chain happen to charge. And yes, you do have to totally watch what happens to your order. In many of their shops, the only drink containers are take away, because the staff dont like washing up. If the coffee is going to be in a paper cup, after asking politely for china, I just leave. Why should you pay their prices and not get proper china/ glassware/ service?
