EU plug to AU plug

Post by Lance »

I bought a new Heat press today that's fitted with an EU plug and I don't want to use an adaptor with it.

Any issues cutting the EU plug off and fitting a std AU plug ?
I figure it's pretty straight forward. ;)

Oldtrack123 will set you straight!!!
Those 'adapters' to au look like they are straight through without any smarts in them but I'm not sure.
Martin (Dapope) might know as people traveling a lot over seas often carry them gadgets. (boats, ships & planes)

Yeah.
I pulled one apart and they are straight through.
Pretty simple.
I can't see any reason not to flick the EU plug.

I guess there are good and bad adaptors, but the one with this unit is rather loose fitting to the GPO and gets warm quickly.
I'm not keen on using it so i wanna flick it.
I think I'll cut the EU plug off the cable tomorra and replace it with an AU

I just tape them both together using electrical tape, seems a lot of electrical goods are coming into Aus with those plugs and thought it was illegal to import appliances that don't conform to Aus standards.
