In the last few weeks . I've had to replace my mains pressure valve, toilet cassette, under sink water filter. And add a wingman to my Wineguard.
Better doing them as they fail or start too, rather than let the jobs and price of parts mount up. And end up being a prohibitive amount.
All on the pension and or limited income would know that any extra amout out of your fortnightly pension makes this a little more difficult. But rather do them than have it mount up.
Next big purchase, my diesel heater

Yep, it never ends!
I'm just a little worried that you mention a "mains pressure valve" & then a "toilet cassette" ........... Sounds a little like a gastro bug?

Re: You never stop spending money on your Rig lol
I had the brilliant idea of putting my new batteries under the step in the side door. Had to get a Camac 2 im 1 door as the bifold door goes under the step when it opens. Hunted around every where to find one that fitted, finally settle on one I'll have to shorten, ordered it, $1300
when that arrived I started to remove the original door and step... metal bugs had attacked under the step where they couldn't be seen, bugga. Took the aluminium checker plate off the entry floor, big metal bugs had eaten holes in there. Slowly, slowly cutting out the rust and welding in plates, then I can back to the original project
Ran out of gas for the mig this afternoon, now gotta buy another bottle full, another drain on the wallet
I'm not sure I can afford to have any more clever ideas for a while

After getting a quote to make a 90% shade cloth awning for the off side of the van- full length in case we need patrol cover if in a hail storm. Priced 3.6m wide at Masters- $14 /metre so that means I can make it for under $100 when we would have been paying close to $500. Will have to get someone to put the eyelets across the bottom though. Sail track probably going on to-morrow. Double battery box is going to be $500 made & fitted.

Water pressure valve has been broken a while. And being on the road , didn't need it seeing I was filling the tanks all the time.
The toilette cassette , has been slowly leaking for a while . Bough a right hand cassette and what do I get a right hand tank with left hand slotting . After a lot of buggerising around. And putting pieces in reverse all good. You would think for $164 they could get parts put on the right way lol

You can buy eyelet kits in Bunnings or some camping stores.

Yes Shirley, I was going to mention that. Make sure you have double or more thickness though or they pull out --- stretch out more like it.
I have a relative in Warracknabeal, Vic who specialises in tarps and awnings etc but that's a bit out of the way for most.

Kay, have you thought about asking Riverlander for a quote as you will be passing. We are thinking about a new stone guard on the van. Might be asking the ?.Macca wrote:After getting a quote to make a 90% shade cloth awning for the off side of the van- full length in case we need patrol cover if in a hail storm.
