Prominent Victorian animal rights advocate Dr Hugh Wirth, who led the Victorian branch of the RSPCA for more than four decades, has died aged 78.

Sadly the powers that be with the rspca had the powers to "over ride" most of the ideas he put forward. The rspca has a not too good reputation these past years, very political.

I'll second what Dot said.
Hugh Wurth was a man of vision, sadly, I don't believe that the same could be said of others in that organisation.

Like many other fields, the career professionals seems to be overriding the true passions of caring.
Hugh had his heart and thoughts where they were needed.
